Using Interface Builder (IB):
Setting GUI standards:
There are 4 basic forms that are involved in maintaining GUI attributes.

GUI OPTIONS (GUIIP)
GUI DATA ITEM OPTIONS (GDAOP)
GUI LINE OPTIONS (GLNOP)
GUI SCREEN OPTIONS (GSCOP)

  • GUI OPTIONS - this option allows the setting of display attributes such as font name, size, colors for each type of ISPEC that LDA permits (Componet, Events, Memo, Tables etc).  Font name, size and colors can be set for painted Display, Data, Inquiry and Ordinate fields.  A Global default can be used an applied to all ISPEC types unless a specific screen type has its own values.
  • DATA ITEM OPTIONS - GUI  values can be defined for each specific data item painted on every ISPEC scanned.  Presentationtypes such as push buttons, boxes, radio buttons can be assigned to a specific data field. In addition, font name, sizes and colors can also be assigned to a specific data item.  For data item in the data dictionary that have validation logic, the Interface Builder automatically generates values for the selected presentation type.  GUI settings, at the data item level, are applied wherever the item is painted.
  • GUI LINE OPTIONS - This option allows the setting of values for a given line (1-24) for all ISPECS.  Display attributes such as font name, size and colors can be set for painted Display, Data, Inquiry and Ordinate fields if any of these type of items are found on the selected line.
  • GUI SCREEN OPTIONS - allows the selection of a font name and size and a background color to be used as the default grid size and background color in LDA.
