Beginning a session using the Interface Builder:
IB is normally run locally by selecting the Local IB Run Time ICON or

  1. From the IE-WEBS program folder select the vIP Connector ICON and thenselect the IEG GUI Web Builder from the Business segment list.  An LDA runtime ICON will appear on the task bar. Wait until the Connector circle changes from red to yellow.
  2. Return to the IE-WEBS program folder and select the IE-WEBS RT ICON. This will initiate a local IE-WEBS HOME PAGE in Internet Explorer (IE). 
  3. Select the IEG GUI Web Builder ICON. The next window displayed in IE is the IE-WEBS CONFG screen.  You are now running the LDART application over the Internet.

Ending the session:
Use the File, Close session in local mode or
  1. Press the "Sign Off" button in the upper right corner of the current screen displayed in IE.
  2. Select "Back to Menu" to return to the IE-WEBS Home Page.
  3. At this time you may return to the IE-WEBS RT or close IE.

Ending the Connector and LDART session
  1. Open the vIP Connector task bar entry and close. This will termiante the Connector and the LDA Run Time session
  2. After vIP Connector and LDA Run Time have closed, you should run the  Housekeeping ICON from the IE-WEBS Program Folder periodically to remove work files that may over time consume disk space.

Using Interface Builder (IB) (Continued on NEXT PAGE)

Loading an LCIF model--
The F1 key while in LDA Run Time pops up field level HELP.
  • The process begins by first creating an LDA model by extracting screens or selected screens from the LDA speicifcation that you want to process using IEG's Interface Builder.
  • Place this model under the "WORK" directory of IEG/IB or a directory of your choice.  It is recommended that a "WORK" directory be named and associated to each LINC specification.  For example: PAYROLL might be where you locate the case file for your payroll specification.
  • Upon opening a Session for the IB run time you are requested to locate the LCIF model you wish to load or, if already loaded, you are presented with a setup configuration form (CONFG)
  • Verify the name of the model to be processed or use the LCIF Model Locator button to located the LCIF model you wish to process
  • Select from one of the three Generate Options.
