  1. Pull down 'View' and select 'Options...'
  2. Choose the 'Programs' tab
  3. In 'Viewers' press 'File Types...'
  4. In 'Registered file types:' locate and single click 'Microsoft Power point Presentation'
    1. The 'Extension' in 'File type defaults' should have 'PPT'. If not, add it.
    2. Press 'Edit...'
    3. Single click 'New' in 'Actions:' and press 'Edit...'
    4. Insure that 'Application used to perform action:' contains the path to Power Point executable and '\powerpnt.exe /n '%1' ' -- that's a number one.
    5. 'Use DDE' should be blank. Press 'OK'
    6. Single click 'Open' in Actions:' and press 'Edit...'
    7. Insure that 'Application used to perform action:' contains the path to Power Point executable and '\powerpnt.exe '%1' ' -- that's a number one.
    8. 'Use DDE' should be blank. Press 'OK'
    9. Note that 'Open' should be bold ('Set as Default').
    10. Other actions (if any) can be left alone.
    11. 'Enable quick view' should be checked.
    12. Press 'Close'
  5. In 'Registered file types:' locate and single click 'Microsoft Word Document'
    1. The 'Extension' in 'File type defaults' should have 'DOC'. If not, add it.
    2. Press 'Edit...'
    3. Single click 'New' in 'Actions:' and press 'Edit...'
    4. Insure that 'Application used to perform action:' contains the path to Word executable and '\winword.exe /n'
    5. 'Use DDE' should be blank. Press 'OK'
    6. Single click 'Open' in Actions:' and press 'Edit...'
    7. Insure that 'Application used to perform action:' contains the path to Word executable and '\winword.exe /n
    8. 'Use DDE' should be blank. Press 'OK'
    9. Note that 'Open' should be bold ('Set as Default').
    10. Other actions (if any) can be left alone.
    11. 'Enable quick view' should be checked.
    12. Press 'Close'
  6. In 'Registered file types:' locate and single click 'MIDI' or 'Standard MIDI'
    1. The 'Extension' in 'File type defaults' should have 'MID'. If not, add it.
    2. Press 'Edit...'
    3. Single click 'New' in 'Actions:' and press 'Edit...'
    4. Insure that 'Application used to perform action:' contains 'C:\windows\mplayer.exe'
    5. 'Use DDE' should be blank. Press 'OK'
    6. Single click 'Open' in Actions:' and press 'Edit...'
    7. Insure that 'Application used to perform action:' contains 'C:\windows\mplayer.exe /play /close'
    8. 'Use DDE' should be blank. Press 'OK'
    9. Note that 'Open' should be bold ('Set as Default').
    10. Other actions (if any) can be left alone.
    11. 'Enable quick view' should be checked.
    12. Press 'Close'
  7. In 'Registered file types:' locate and single click 'Wave sound'.
    1. The 'Extension' in 'File type defaults' should have 'WAV'. If not, add it.
    2. Press 'Edit...'
    3. Single click 'New' in 'Actions:' and press 'Edit...'
    4. Insure that 'Application used to perform action:' contains 'C:\windows\mplayer.exe' or 'C:\windows\sndrec32.exe' (for windows 95)
    5. 'Use DDE' should be blank. Press 'OK'
    6. Single click 'Open' in Actions:' and press 'Edit...'
    7. Insure that 'Application used to perform action:' contains 'C:\windows\mplayer.exe /play /close'or 'C:\windows\sndrec32.exe /play /close' (for windows 95)
    8. 'Use DDE' should be blank. Press 'OK'
    9. Note that 'Open' should be bold ('Set as Default').
    10. Other actions (if any) can be left alone.
    11. 'Enable quick view' should be checked.
    12. 'Content type (MIME):' should be 'audio/wave'
    13. Press 'Close'
  8. Press 'OK' (to close 'Registered file types')
  9. Press 'OK' (to close 'Options')
