We have divided the utilities into two categories for your convenience: LDA III Development and LDA III Runtime.

• Scrubber
  • Removes trailing spaces from host LINC Case Extract files.
  • Removes empty records.
  • Optionally removes change control information, thus further reducing the size of the model.
  • Converts T27 'control-H' sequences (except in CLW fields) to spaces.
  • Audits locations of T27 sequences.
  
  
• Xref
  • Allows you to cross reference Data Items, Profiles, Global Logics, Global Setup Data Items, Local Setup Data Items, and SAME.AS Items.
  • Optionally creates Data Dictionary items (where possible) and reports items which are used inconsistently.
  • Displays results on-line and stores them in a printable file.
  • Directly accesses a 'Scrubbed' model file for speed.
  • All navigation is point-and-click.
  
  
• RepGen
  • Generates a LINC report to unload/load data from/to an ISPEC.
  • Directly accesses a 'Scrubbed' model file for speed.
  • Clearly shows where you should add optional record selection logic in the generated LDL.
  • The generated reports create platform-independent extract files.
  • The generated reports have built-in recovery.
  
  
• Replacer
  • Counts and/or replaces specific target items throughout 'Scrubbed' model file.
  • Helps identify reserved words and selected names in contexts of ISPECs, GLGs, Profiles, Reports and SDs/GSDs.
  • Recognizes LINC naming conventions.
  • Audits location of all targets and changes.
  
  
• Model Organizer
  • Organizes objects into:
    • A Series subsystems
    • Input and I-O ISPECs
    • Output and I-O ISPECs
    • Updating reports
    • Report 'generate groups'
  • Generates a 'partial' model file consisting of object relationships.
  • Directly accesses a 'Scrubbed' model file for speed.
  
  
• GUI Builder
  • Generates basic Graphical screens for loading into LDA III.
  • Provides three alternatives when painting screens
    • Basic Graphic screen defaults
      • Screen types: Default, Standard, Table, Direct, Auto-Maint, and Memo Components as well as Events and painted Global Logics
      • Field types: Display, Inquiry, Data, and Ordinate (where applicable)
    • Line defaults to override screen defaults for things like Headings and Footings, same Field types as screen defaults
    • Data Item settings to override either defaults and tell that a field should be displayed as a: Field, Push Button, Radio Button, Check Box, List Box, Combo Box, or Image
  • Generates GUI attributes for data items having Validation Logic but not having specific GUI settings declared. The generated attributes will be one of the following: Check Box, Radio Button, or Defined Combo Box with Validation.
  • Once loaded into LDA III, the screens may be extracted for Power Client.
  
  

• RepRun (36KB) Windows95/NT only.
  • Runs a series of LINC reports in LDA III run time 'batch' mode.
  • Executes operating system commands (similar to WFL/ECL).
  • Reads a standard text file for batch instructions.
  • Displays and optionally prints a 'job summary'.
  • Optionally 'chains' to further report batches.
  • Allows line-by-line "stepping".
  • Documentation.
  • Requires oleaut32.dll (0.6 Mb) version 2.30.4261 or greater unless you already have it. Copy this to your windows/system directory under DOS mode.
  • Requires MSVBvm60.dll (1.4 Mb) unless you already have it.
  
  
• LDA View (93KB)
  • Allows you to view LDA III 1.2, 1.3, 2.1, 2.2 or 2.3 run time databases.
• LDA View 3Rx(128KB)
  • Allows you to view EAD 3Rx run time databases.
  • Displays the Ispec data directly or through a Profile.
  • Displays 20 complete records (direct I-O for speed) with horizontal scrolling provided.
  • No limit on the size of the file to be viewed.
  • Once displayed, the records can be copied to Window's clipboard with a push of a button.
  • Up to 90 characters of displayed records may be printed.
  • All navigation is point-and-click.
  • Requires VBRun200.dll unless you already have it.
