Overview:

Case extract files from host LINC which are transported to the PC are called "Model" files. Often, the file transport process introduces ASCII control characters (less than 20h). Also, many host LINC systems from A series or V series use T-27 terminal highlighting codes which are also ASCII control characters.

Under certain circumstances, models containing these control characters are not loadable into LDA. Furthermore, LDA does not provide keyboard sequences to add or maintain T-27 highlighting codes. Often, models containing ASCII control characters do not properly generate on other host LINC platforms; and even when they do, the T-27 codes are not likely to have the desired effect.

SCRUBBER is a Visual Basic program which detects ASCII control code usage in context. That is, "Clear When" characters can legitimately be less than 20h. SCRUBBER replaces undesirable control codes with a space and provides an audit of all replacements.
