FTP Access
Information Exchange Group, Inc.
IEG maintains a variety of documents, presentations, and evaluation copies of our pc tools on an FTP site. You can download files from ftp://ftp.ieg-inc.com/ftp.ieg-inc.com/client/ in your web browser. For much faster downloads, use FTP client software (such as WS_FTP) to access our files:
WS_FTP settings:
- Set the host name to 'ftp.ieg-inc.com'.
- Set the host type to 'auto detect'.
- Set the user code to 'anonymous'.
- Set the password to your e-mail address in the form of: ottointree@lincster.com.
- Set the initial remote path to 'client'.
Or, you may use Windows 95 directly:
- Press Start on the task bar
- Choose 'run'
- Type 'ftp'
- In the DOS window that opens, type 'lcd path' to change your local directory to the path of your choice. For example: lcd c:\temp
- Type 'open ftp.ieg-inc.com'
- When prompted for usercode, type 'anonymous'
- When prompted for password, enter your email address, such as 'OttoIntree@linc'
- Type 'cd client'
- Type 'dir' to see a list of files and sub directories
- Type 'binary'
- Type 'get filename'
- Type 'close'
- Type 'quit'; the file will be in the path specified in step 4 above.
You are welcome to upload small (less than 10MB) files into the 'incoming' directory; please send us an e-mail to tell us about you and the file. The incoming directory is secure, so after your file is uploaded, you - and all other anonymous users - will not be able to see it.
If you send us a model or a 'zip' of a file, be sure to set the transfer type to 'binary'!
