What's New at IEG
- We are working on a new product called
"Customize And Personalize"
(CaP)
that can be used with web pages created by our IB product to change the pages'
appearance without regeneration. Preliminary documentation can be found here.
- The hottest new item is IE-WEBS. It allows LDA Run Time systems to be deployed
directly to the Internet. That's right, folks, we aren't talking about NT LINC, ICE LINC
or any other LINC, Web Agent, Power Builder, PCE or SCL interpreter; just plain LDA
Run Time and a Web Browser! Hit your browser's back button and click the button for
"Want to see LDA Run Time on the Web?". Or for more information on how it works,
take a look at our presentation to
European LINC User meetings.
- Interface Builder (IB) has matured nicely to a full-featured product. It is
an LDA Runtime system that allows you to build and maintain LDA GUI screens and
generate DHTML for IE-WEBS and Active Server Pages (ASP) for Active LINC. We
have made an associated white paper discussing
where Java
Beans and ASP pages go to help you understand a bit more about the
ActiveLINC architecture.
- An IB demonstration
is available (most of the time) which illustrates many features that IB supports
in conjuction with LDA/EAD and IE-WEBS/ActiveLINC.
- We have combined the power of IE-WEBS and IB to build several "Quick Demos" to
illustrate what a prospective LINC system might look like through a web browser. After
we have the LINC case extract, in as little as 24 hours we will GUI paint the screens,
build the LDA Run Time, and deploy it to a demo site on the Internet. Although
user-written logic is not available, LINC's automatic logic is functional and screens
are painted according to IEG's default standards. For more information, contact our
Eastern Office.
- We have sister web sites that support our new product initiatives:
- www.ieg-ib.com: Product
documentation for IB which builds DHTML for IE-WEBS, ASP for Active LINC and
allows you to build and maintain, en masse, GUI screens for LDA.
- www.WeBuildForms.com:
IB marketing materials and guidelines and tips for building effective web pages
with LDA.
- www.ieg-webad.com: Product
documentation IE-WEBS ("Connector" and "Monitor") which exposes LDA Run Time systems
to the Internet or intranets.
- www.vIP-Provider.com: IE-WEBS marketing
materials (including how to become an IE-WEBS provider), and other information for
Monitor providers (vIP), Application Connector Providers (vAP), and Application
Developers (AD).
- IM assessments are now more user friendly and available to anyone. Unisys
presentations at Unite 2000 emphasized the need to go to LDA, so we decided to "open"
up the IM assessment process to you. You can find more info at
www.ieg-inc.com/help.
